Angela Eliza Vickers was born on 17th April 1834 and was baptised at St Botolph Without, Aldersgate, London, on 14th May 1834. She was the daughter of Joseph Vickers, Merchant, and Harriet Mary, nee Carrington. Angela was employed as a governess, working in Gloucester, aged 26yrs, Hertfordshire, aged 34yrs, and in 1881 she was a lodger with a schoolmistress in Hammersmith.
She married James Joseph Brunet, widower, 83yrs, at St. Saviour's, St. George's Square, Pimlico, on 29th December 1881, Angela was 46yrs. of age and was his third wife. James was a naturalised British Subject, born in St. Omer, France. James Joseph Brunet was married in 1843 (London) to Esther Seaward, who died in 1864. His second marriage took place in Brussels in 1866 to Elizabeth Vickers, born Holborn, London.
It is more than likely that Angela Eliza Vickers, third wife, was related to her predecessor, Elizabeth Vickers. Angela was widowed in 1886 when James died in France, aged 88yrs, leaving estate of £12096 4s. (2021 value - £1.6m).
In 1891, she was living at Lancaster House, Lansdowne Road, Worthing, Sussex, and she remained at this address for the next 30yrs. In the directory of 1930, she listed herself as Madame Angela Brunet.
Angela had a grandnephew, Kenneth Carrington Ness, who visited her from the age of 13yrs, he was granted probate of her estate in 1931 when she died, aged 96yrs, on 6th May.
