Life story

Life story

Fanny was baptised on 7 July 1850 in Yetminster, Dorset, under the name Fanny Wallis Barnwell but later her middle name was Martha. She was the daughter of Alfred and Catherine (nee Webber) Barnwell. She became a cook in the household of mother and daughter, Mary Ann  Randolph and Mary Ann Foyle, at The Lodge, Kimpton, Hampshire and later cook in the household of Susan Coade in St Austell.

On 29 September 1896 she married Richard John Bunney, usually called John, a 47 year-old farmer, a widower, at St Austell in Cornwall, and they made their home at 22, Milton Street, Heene. They lived there until Fanny died in 1925 aged 75. According to the 1911 Census they had no children.
