Life story

Frederick Holyoak was born in 1858 at St George The Martyn, Middlesex, to William and Ida Ann Holyoak. Frederick's father, William, worked as a Porter, and in 1861 the family are living at 35 Twyford Street, Islington. By 1871 William's Father has changed his job to a Warehouseman and the family are now living at 75 Belge Road, St saviour, London.

In 1881 Frederick is still living at home and has found work as a clerk.

Frederick married Ida Ann Letheby on 22nd April 1885 Lambeth London, and by 1891 the couple are living at 4 Mornington Road, Leyton. Essex.

They had 3 children-

Bertram Lethaby, born 1887 Leyton Essex

William J born 1890 Leytonstone Essex

Margaret Marian born 1896 Leytonstone Essex

In 1911 Frederick and Ida are living at 56 Chadwick Road, Leytonstone, Essex, with 2 of their children (Bertram and Margaret) and Frederick's Sister Margaret. Frederick is working as a clerk for the Port of London Authority

Between 1911 and 1920 Frederick and Ida moved to Worthing and lived at Northcote Richmond road Worthing, Sussex.  Frederick died on the 26th January 1920, he left £641 2s 1d (£18625 in 2020) with probate to Ida Ann, his Wife.

After Frederick's death Ida moved to Fairoak Court, High street, West Tarring.

She died on 6th April 1940 whilst staying at Normanton Nursing home, Shelley road, Worthing. She left £1917 8s 1d (£75427 in 2020) with probate to Blanche Ferries (Wife of James Ferries).
