Life story

George Frederick Stanley Mathews was born in October 1878 in Ramsgate, Kent, his father, John was a jeweller from Ramsgate and his mother was Helen Bushby from Sompting. He had three sisters and died of enteritis aged 4 in Worthing on the 13th September, 1883. He was buried in Heene Cemetery on the 19th September 1883. His grandfather was Frank Bushby.
