In loving memory of Frank Joseph Middleton Cory fell asleep Sept 13th 1935 in his 82nd year. Also of his beloved wife Hannah Jennings Cory fell asleep July 7th 1945 in her 91st year.

Life story

Life story

Hannah was born in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, the daughter of Joshua and Caroline Wilson. Her father was a bricklayer. As a young woman, Hannah trained as a teacher. On 1st January 1880, she married Joseph Frank Cory (Frank) also a teacher at Chilvers Coton in Warwickshire. The couple moved to London, first living in Islington and then settling in Hackney. They had no children. By 1901, Frank was headmaster at Rushmore Road Board School in Hackney. When he retired in 1918, the couple moved to Worthing, living at 44 Harrow Road. Frank and Hannah both worshipped at St Botolph's Church where Frank was a warden. He died in 1935. Hannah continued to live in Harrow Road looked after by her niece Alice Maidment nee Barton. She died on 7th July 1945. No probate.
