Life story

Isabel Crump was born into the family of Thomas Crump and wife Mary Ann Reeves. Isabel is the fifth child of six born. Mary Anna 1855, Sarah Jane 1856, Charlotte Elizabeth 1859, Alice Maud 1861 (Dies at Birth), Isabel 1863 and Brother Charles Thomas 1864. Her father was a grocer, Tea dealer and provisions merchant in Mercery Lane and Butter Market in Canterbury Kent. He employed staff and had businesses in Mercery Lane, Northgate Street and Wincheap Street, Canterbury, and later also a grocer and Wine merchants. During Isabel's childhood she is living with her father and her mother is living at her parent's house through most of the Census forms. Her father has been steadily building up his grocery business and Isabel has not been listed as working. At the age of 35, Isabel marries Edwin Henry Crafer who is 58 (23 years her senior ) and his occupation is a Civil Servant Isabel and her husband marry in Steyning and live in Worthing at "Iddesleigh" Down view Road, Worthing. 3 Years later Isabel dies at Worthing and is buried in Heene Cemetery where her Husband Edwin Edward is also buried in her grave 16 years later in 1917
