When Lucy Muriel Browne was born on 13 November 1868 in Bromley, Kent, her father, clergyman Robert Browne, was 33, and her mother, Ellen Richenda Wilson, was 24. She had two brothers: Robert Denis and Ambrose George, and two sisters, Ellen Richenda and (Harriet )Rowan
In 1871, her father was the vicar of Eynsford, living in Church Street, Farmingham, Kent . Robert was a Rector and M.A. of Trinity college. He was the Rector in many areas Curate of Margate Kent 1858-61 Curate of St. Matthews, Denmark Hill, London 1862-64 Curate of St. Mary, Islington 1864-66 Rector of Eynsford Kent 1871-77 Rector of St. Clements, Ipswich 1877-90 Rector of Hale, Farnham 1890 -94 Rector of Fawley, Hampshire 1894 until his death.
After her Father's death Lucy was living with her mother Ellen and siblings at Clifton Lodge, 4 Holford Road, Hampstead. Lucy's mother, Ellen died in 1916 and then the sisters, Lucy and Elizabeth ran the family home as a guest house taking in up to 8 boarders.
Between 1921 and 1939 Lucy and her sister Elizabeth Richenda had moved to Worthing and were living at 9 Salisbury Road, Worthing. They lived in the same household as Ena Caroline Denyer, a self trained top chef.
She died on 25 November 1943 in Bath Road, Worthing, Sussex, at the age of 75. Lucy and Ellen were both buried in Heene Cemetery,
