Life story

Life story

Marie was born in 1898 daughter of John and Mary Dawson. She was known as Marie as her Mother's name was Mary. Marie's father was a boot salesman and later the manager of a boot warehouse. He died before 1919. Marie married Kenneth Donald Abbott at Holy Trinity, Stirling on 4 Jun 1919. Her address is given as Burnside Cottage, Milton-by-Stirling. The couple lived in Addlestone, Surrey where in 1924, Marie gave birth to Charles Kenneth Jock Abbott. The family moved to Worthing in 1929, living at Dunblane 3 Lansdowne Road. Marie died in "Caer Gwent" nursing home, Wykeham Road on 13 Mar 1934 of pulmonary tuberculosis. No probate.

The death took place in a nursing home on Tuesday of Mrs Marie Abbott, wife of Mr Kenneth Abbott, Dunblane, Lansdowne Road. The funeral took place at Heene Church yesterday (Friday).
