Mary Ann Muirhead nee Pratt (1876 - 1961)
Glamorgan born, Minnie Pratt, was the wife of Baptist Minister, John Muirhead. She had one child, Dorothea Hinemoa, born in Dunedin New Zealand where the Reverend Muirhead was the Baptist Minister from 1896 to 1905. The family returned to England where they travelled to different ministeries around England and Scotland.
Mary Ann Pratt, known as Minnie, was born in South Wales, to George Loch Pratt, a master mariner, and his wife Sarah Jones.
She was baptised on 4th May 1879 in New Shoreham by Vicar Harris Smith.
Mary and her sister, Elizabeth Alice, lost their father when they were very young.
At the age of 5 Mary was a visitor in the Shoreham by Sea home of relative Frances Payne.
Sarah then married another mariner, David Henderson and Sarah had another child and lived at 80 High Street, Broadwater, Worthing.
Mary Ann (Minnie) Pratt married Clergyman, John Muirhead in Dunedin, Otago, on 12 September 1898 when she was 22 years old.
They had one child: Dorothea Hinemoa Muirhead born 13/07/1899 in Helena Street, Dunedin, New Zealand.
In 1911, Minnie and John were at Seed Street, Radcliffe, Lancashire and her daughter, Dorothea was at boarding school in the Derbyshire Dales.
In 1921 Minnie and John were in Scotland.
John died at West Avenue, Worthing in 1937 and was buried at Heene
By 1939 widowed Minnie lived with Dorothea at 42 Hollingbury Gardens, Worthing, Sussex. Dorothea was the principal of a school of dancing.
Minnie died on 19/04/1961 and was buried at Heene.
