John Freeman formerly of Stoke Doyle, Northampstonshire died 27th October 1901 aged 68 "Into Thy hand O Lord" Ps. 31. 5. Also of Mary Ann Freeman his wife died 29th April 1925 aged 87p. Also of Agnes Mary Woods eldest daughter of Edward William and Elizabeth Woods died 25th May 1961 aged 68 R.I.P.

Life story

Mary Ann Freeman was born in 1838 in Oundle Northamptonshire to Thomas Bullivant and Mary Ann Benskin.  Thomas Bullivant lived in Oundle where he ran a Grocers shop and Tallow Chandlers.

On 30th April 1867 Mary married John Freeman a widower who was a Yeoman farmer in Glapthorne Northamptonshire. There are no records of any children being born

By 1871 Mary and John are living at the Manor House in Upper Street Glapthorne Northants where John is a Farmer of 474 acres employing 8 men 5 women and 5 boys

By 1881 they have moved to a bigger farm of 520 acres in Stoke Doyle Oundle Northants.  John is employing 9 labourers and 2 boys.

By 1901 John and Mary have moved to Worthing after John has retired from farming they are living at Stoke Doyle, Belsize road. They have employed two servants one being a sick nurse. So it maybe that John and Mary moved to Worthing for health reasons.

John died on the 27th October 1901 in Belsize Road Worthing and Mary died on 29th April 1925. Mary left £2683 10s 9d (approx £110,000 in 2020)
