Life story

Life story

Mary was born in Newington, Surrey, the daughter of William and Ada. Her father worked for the Royal United Friendly Society as their Assistant Secretary. By 1891, the family were living in Leyton, Essex. On 15th September 1902, Mary married William Megam Wood at Holy Trinity church, Harrow Green. William was a wholesale grocer from Woodford in Essex. The couple moved to Exmouth in Devon and Mary's parents had joined them by 1911. The couple had no children. By 1929, William and Mary were living at 46 Rolle Street in Exmouth. Mary died at "Caer Gwent" Nursing Home in Wykeham Road, Worthing on 27th September 1929. No Probate.

William died in Exmouth in 1934.
