Nessie Dolding aka Nellie was born in Worthing in 1892 to Richard Arthur Dolding, 37yrs, and Sarah Louise nee Bowers, 34yrs, her father was a Commercial Traveller for a Tea Merchant. She was one of 6 children; Herbert b.1879, Percy b.1881, Florence b.1884, Charles b.1887 (died 1895), Nessie b.1892, and Sidney b.1896.

When Nellie was 8yrs old she lived at Northcote, Richmond Road, Worthing, with her father, Richard, 46yrs, mother, Sarah, 43yrs, Florence, 16yrs, and Sydney, 5yrs.

On 25th October 1901 Nellie's father died, aged 47yrs. He left estate of £1661 5s 8d. to his wife, Sarah, value 2020 - £205K.

Ten years later, in 1911, Nessie was 18yrs old and assisting her mother, Sarah, in her business running a Lodging House, they lived at Lismore, Wyke Avenue, Worthing.

Nessie Dolding died on 22nd November 1923 at 9, Eriswell Road, Worthing, aged 31yrs, she was unmarried.

Her death certificate gave the cause of death as (1) Tubercular Peritonitis 2 years  (2) Tubercular infiltration of apex -R. Lung, 3 months.
