Octavia Stark was born on 30th January 1831, she was baptised on 8th April 1831 in Norwich, Norfolk, at the Octagon Chapel, on the Non-Conformist Register. Octavia was 1 of 12 children, born to William Stark, 43yrs, Manufacturing Chemist, and Mary, 37yrs, nee Sims.

Her family were well off and as a young woman Octavia spent many years as a student at the Government School of Art, Norfolk, passing exams in freehand drawing, geometry, and model drawing. She was also involved in local drama productions and was a soprano member of the Norwich Gatehouse Choir.

Octavia and her twin sisters, Jane and Mary, lived with their widowed mother as adults into their forties, Octavia never married, and after her mother's death she left Norfolk and lived in London into her seventies. At some point, Octavia moved to Worthing, Sussex, and in the census of 1911, aged 80yrs, she was living at St. George's, Rowlands Road with one servant.

Octavia died at this address on 18th November 1914, aged 83yrs, probate was granted to Dora Crecy Bowles, spinster, and Charles Blackwell Foster, solicitor, effects £3656 12s 3d. Value 2024 - £528,670.

The Last Will and Testament for Octavia Stark was dated 17th June 1910 with a Codicil dated 28th September 1914.
