Thomas Dawes Birth Entry

Thomas grew up in Fairford, Gloucestershire where his family worked as agricultural labourers. His father was Thomas Dawes and his mother Sarah Smith. Both father and son worked as grooms at one time and Thomas junior later worked as a shepherd. Thomas married Ellen Parker on 30th June 1864 in Fairford. They began married life at Kempsford, Gloucestershire and moved frequently. In 1881, they were in Bampton, Oxfordshire and later in Wiltshire. Ellen died in 1907. By 1921, Thomas was living with his daughter Mary and her husband Henry Eling in Elm Grove Worthing. Thomas died on 21st February 1929. No probate.
