Life story

Edward Rhodes Harrison was born on 1st June 1837 in Enfield, Middlesex; he was baptised on 23rd September 1837 at the Parish Church, St. Pancras. Edward was the son of Daniel Harrison, 36yrs, Landed Proprietor, (later Magistrate), and Jane, 34yrs, nee Rhodes, he had 5 siblings, Thomas b.1835, Mary b.1840, Emily b.1844, Frederick b.1846, and Richard b.1848.

In 1861, Edward, 24yrs, was a metal broker; in 1862 he married Juliet Morgan, 19yrs, at Northaw, Hertfordshire, on 28th May.

By 1871 they had 3 children, Edward b.1864, Mary b.1866, and Percy b.1868, and they were living in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. Edward was living on an allowance from his parents and had no occupation.

In 1881, the family were living in Manor Villas, Heene, Worthing, they had 5 more children, Florence b.1872, Constance b.1873, Emily b.1975, William b.1887, and Alice b.1880.

Edward Rhodes Harrison died on 2nd May 1886, aged 48yrs, at West End Villa, Manor Road.

Probate was granted to his widow, Juliet Harrison, residuary legatee for life if she remains a widow. Effects £223 13s 6d. Value 2022 - £31K.
