Fanny Gibson was born in Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire, she was baptised on 31st October 1827. She was the daughter of Edward Gibson, 40yrs, Ship Builder and Ship Owner, and Isabella, 35yrs, nee Kellock. Her father was a Justice of the Peace for the county of York.
Fanny had 5 siblings, Mary Ann b.1813, Esther Anna b.1818, William Graeme b.1822, Lucy Sarah b.1829, and Frederick Denhame b.1831.
At some point after 1851 Fanny and her parents moved to Hornsea, Yorkshire, where both died in 1859. Her father left estate close to £1m. (2022 value) enabling Fanny and her unmarried sisters to live on private means. Fanny appears to have lived with her sister, Esther, until she died in 1891 in Kent, and she then moved to Worthing, Sussex, where her married sister, Lucy Nisbet, lived, residing at Eriswell Villa, Eriswell Road.
Fanny died on 1st December 1897, aged 70yrs, probate was granted to her nephew, Edward Gibson Nisbet, solicitor, and the Rev. Lucius Henry Deering, Clerk, effects £3701 2s 5d. Value 2022 - £512K.
