Life story

Doris Ruth Ellis was born in Worthing, Sussex, she was baptised at Heene, on 15th April 1900. Her parents were, Henry Arthur Ellis, 32yrs, Stationer, and Agnes Jane, 33yrs, nee Dunston. Doris had a brother, Roderick Henry, born in 1904, but she died, the following year, on 12th November 1905, aged 5yrs, at Swandean Hospital, Durrington.

Her death certificate gave the cause of death as 'Peritonitis'.
