Louisa Edwards Birth Entry

Louisa Madeline Stone was born on the 18th June 1855 at High Street, Crediton. She was the daughter of John Augustus Edwards, a surgeon, and his wife, Mary, nee Brown. She married Richard Charles Stone, a widower, in her home town on 21 January 1882. Two children were born to the couple Noël Mary in 1883 and Linden John Stidolph in 1886.  Richard died in 1886 and the 1891 Census finds Louisa living in Brixton keeping a lodging house. By 1901 she still runs a lodging house but now at 6, Compton Street, Eastbourne and her son, widower father and one of her sisters, Florence, are living with her. In 1911  Louisa and Florence have moved to Cheam and are in the household of Louisa's daughter, Noel Mary, now the wife of a schoolmaster. Her move to Worthing could not be traced but she died here on 8 December 1926 and was buried at Heene on 11 December.
