Life story

Born in Worthing, daughter of Edwin and Ellen Mary. Died aged 5 months and buried at Heene on 21 Sep. Mabel was one of three children of Edwin and Ellen to be buried at Heene. Edwin was the brother of George Edwin Greenfield. He married Ellen Mary Elliott at Heene on 1st May 1881. The brothers were brickmakers and worked on the Tarring brickfields at the west end of Tarring Road. The family lived in Brickyard Cottages in Tarring End Lane (Road). After the death of the third child Ernest in 1899, they moved away to Edmonton in Middlesex.
