Vincent Henry Challis was born in 1870 in Brixton, Surrey to William and Georgina Challis. Vincent's Father William worked as an Insurance Clerk. Vincent lived with his family at Lansdowne Terrace, Lambeth in 1871, he had 2 siblings Florence born 1866 Brixton and Oswald born 1873, Brixton. By 1901, Vincent had left home and was boarding at 118 Gleneagle Road, Streatham, London, he was living on his own means.
He met Kate Edith Joynes who also lived in Streatham and the couple were married on 27th September 1906 at the local parish church.

Vincent became an Architect and Surveyor and by 1911 the family had moved to Worthing and were living at Brooklyn Valencia Road, Worthing, Sussex.
The couple had 4 children but only 1 survived Ronald Vincent Challis born 1911 in Worthing, Sussex.
By 1921 the family had moved to Penshurst Belsize Road, Worthing, Sussex. Vincent had retired from his job as an Architect and Surveyor, and they now had Kate's Father (William Henry Joynes) living with them.
Vincent died on 31st March 1934, Worthing, Sussex while living at 4 Rugby Road, he left an estate of £14638 15s 6d (£741,500 in 2020) with probate to his Wife Kate and Leonard Albert Taylor, company Director.
Kate died in December 1939 while living at Seabrook Nursing Home, 14 Queens road, Worthing. She left £12132 14s 6d (£477350 in 2020) with probate to her son, Ronald Vincent and Leonard Albert Taylor, Company Director
Ronald Vincent Challis, Vincent and Kate's Son, married Helen Webster Anderson and had 1 child called Margaret Kate Challis, sadly she died before her first birthday. Ronald died in 1981 in Worthing.
