Life story

Hugh Hugh Jones was born in Llanrug. Carnarvonshire, South Wales, in 1894. His father was Hugh Owen Jones, 36yrs, a slate quarryman, his mother, Jane, 37yrs, nee Roberts. He had 3 older siblings, Owen, 12yrs, Elizabeth, 8yrs, and Mary, 3yrs; 2 younger siblings were born, Margaret 1896, and John, 1898. Hugh went into the legal profession; he was a Solicitor's Clerk at 18yrs. In 1920, aged 27yrs, Hugh married Emma Jane Pace, 26yrs, a widow, nee Bowe, at St. Stephen's, Norbury, on 21st December.

In 1921 Hugh and Jane were living at 61/62 Chancery Lane, where Hugh was a law clerk, and his younger brother, John, was a junior clerk. Hugh worked for Jacques and Co. Solicitors, in Holborn. Hugh died on 7th January 1928, aged 34yrs, at 7, Wordsworth Road, Worthing, his cause of death was Pulmonary Tuberculosis (no PM).

Probate was granted to his widow, Jane Jones, effects £1019 18s 6d. Value 2021 - £64K.
