Life story

Life story

Louisa was born in Highbury, Middlesex, the daughter of John King and his wife Constant nee Crole. She was baptised at St Mary, Islington on 22 June 1824. By 1837, the family were living in Brighton, firstly in Brunswick Square and later in Montpelier Road. In 1846, Louisa's sister Madeline died aged just 17. This was also the year that another sister Letitia married the Reverend Richard Blaker. He became Vicar of Ifield, Sussex in 1850. John King died in 1849. His widow Constant lived on in "Clayton House" Montpelier Road until her death in 1878. Louisa was her constant companion and after her mother's death, moved in with Letitia and her husband firstly at Ifield and then in Worthing. Richard Blaker died in 1894 and was buried at Heene. Louisa died on 25th April 1899. Probate was granted on 21st July to Harry Campbell Blaker solicitor. Effects £2928 1s 11d.

Letitia Blaker died in 1906 and was also buried at Heene.
