Life story

Marion Street was born on 24 May 1840 in London, Her father, George Horatio Street, was a bookseller and stationer and her mother was, Elizabeth Arthur from Hoxton. She married Robert Chignell in July 1863 in St. Pancras. Robert was the principal of a private school and later an author.

She had three children, Marion, Ethel and Mildred.

Marion lived in Dover and East Grinstead with Robert and her three daughters. She moved to Worthing between 1901 and her death in 1908.

She died on 10 December 1908 at the age of 68, and was buried in Heene Cemetery Worthing with the Rev Fallowes officiating.
